Vincent created the elePHPant several years ago as his proposal for a PHP mascot and it has been adopted by many PHP sites, mostly from France.

Hello,

Security issues have always been a major concern for those that are responsible for Web sites. Every day, security experts discover new vulnerabilities in computer programs that many of us use in our Web sites.

That would not be a problem if such experts would not use the knowledge about those vulnerabilities to compromise our systems and cause any harm.

Hello,

As some users are already aware, I finally made available a system that lets the users rate each class in several aspects.

This is meant mostly to provide some moral compensation to the authors that contribute with good classes, and also to serve as encouragement to improve to get better acceptance and contribute with more and better classes.

Hello,

I forgot to mention that the page for rating packages is already available at:

http://www.phpclasses.org/rate.html

Obviously, contributors may not rate their own packages. Only users that have downloaded a package may rate it.

Although I have not announced this to the majority of the users, you may already tell the users of your packages to rate it and that will also count for the user rating ranking and upcoming PHP classes programming contests.

Hello,

Finally I made time to implement a package rating system for the packages that all authors have contributed to the PHP classes site.

This will allow the users to find the best classes made available in the site. This is especially important because not only the users will not spend so much time evaluating many similar packages, but will also encourage authors to provide more and better classes in criteria that matter to most users.

Hello,

Finally I made time provide a daily digest version of the new class alert messages. This means that from now on, new classes will be notified by e-mail with a single message that is sent at 00:00 server time (currently GMT+1).
